Is your faith congregation involved in its neighborhood? Your project may be eligible for a grant of $500 to $5,000.

The Community Ministries Fund is seeking applications from Worcester- based houses of worship – of any faith tradition – to improve the lives of neighborhood residents. Projects such as tutoring, mentoring, afterschool programs, senior services, music and art enrichment, English as a Second Language, gang intervention, job training, urban gardens, and projects that build community with your neighbors, are considered.

This fund is sponsored by: Worcester Area Mission Society- United Church of Christ and Worcester Area United Methodists, to connect congregations to their neighborhoods and foster partnerships with other nonprofit organizations. Awards are made annually.

Managed by: Greater Worcester Community Foundation, an independent nonprofit

Statement of Values: The Fund does not support programs that advance a sectarian agenda, and will not award money to organizations that discriminate or perpetuate demeaning stereotypes based on gender, race, ethnic background, sexual orientation, religion, economic condition, or physical ability.
