The Worcester Center for Crafts is currently seeking submissions for their Juried Photography Exhibit, “Center Yourself,” a look at how the individual and the community are “centered” through the arts. This exhibit is being curated by Photographer William O. Gardiner IV who is being assisted by Photographer and Clark University Professor Stephen Dirado.

Theme: By “centering yourself,” you give your mind the power to shape your life and heal yourself.As a Photographer you find that working in the Arts calms the senses and stimulates the intellect. Through your work, the community joins together to celebrate these cultural forms and images through exhibits and displays. Photographers are invited to explore this subject in any way that inspires them.

Eligibility: All Photography is welcome including, but not limited to gelatin silver, C-prints, ink jet, Giclee, and any other “alternative” processes. Emerging as well as established Photographers are invited to submit work for consideration.

Images: Up to three images may be submitted per artist. Work must be wall ready. The maximum size of each finished piece should be no more then 16”X20”, no deeper than 3” and no heavier than 10 pounds.

Submitted works must be labeled on the back with the Artist’s Name • Address • Telephone # • E-mail • Medium • Title • Retail sales price. All work will be for sale. A signed copy of the Worcester Center for Crafts Gallery Store Contract is required and can be found online at and should be submitted along with all work.

Entries: Work must be submitted to the Worcester Center for Crafts, 25 Sagamore Road, Worcester, on Monday, January 31, 2011 between the hours of 2pm and 7pm. Work which is not juried into the show must be picked up on Thursday, February 3, 2011 between the hours of 2pm and 7pm.

Exhibition: The show will open on February 10, 2011 and will be on display through March 12, 2011. The Opening Reception will take place on February 17, 2011 from 5pm to 8pm.

Sales: All submitted works will be for sale and will be sold through the Worcester Center for Crafts Gallery under the conditions of the current Gallery Store Contract. Artists will receive 50% of the retail value of the work. The remaining proceeds will go to support the Gallery Program and Classes at the Worcester Center for Crafts.

Unsold work must be picked up on Monday, March 21, 2011 between the hours of 2pm and 7pm.

Prizes will be awarded in the following categories: Best Black and White • Best Color • Best Alternative Process • Best of Show
