This press release just came in, and as I’m already freezing, I was thinking we might as well be “freezing for a reason!”
Get Ready, We’re Going to be Freezin’ for a Reason!

WHERE: Wachusett Mountain, Princeton, Massachusetts

WHEN: January 22, 2011 at 2:00 P.M., registration will begin at 1:00 P.M.

COST: Participants are encouraged to raise a minimum of $100 in pledges in order to receive an official “I DID IT” long sleeved t-shirt.  Visit the website to create your own fundraising page.  All proceeds will benefit Camp Sunshine.

Camp Sunshine offers children with life-threatening illnesses and their families a place to relax together, and take a break from the extraordinary demands placed on them daily. The year-round program is free of charge and staffed almost entirely by volunteers. It is the only program in the nation whose mission is to address the impact of a life-threatening illness on every member of the immediate family. Since the inception of Camp Sunshine, thousands of ill children and their families from Massachusetts have had the opportunity to regroup, reenergize, and restore hope at Camp Sunshine.  In 2010, 167 families from Massachusetts benefitted from a respite at Camp Sunshine, more than any other state in the nation. Even with multiple sessions being added annually, there are still many more children from Massachusetts being newly diagnosed each year that would greatly benefit from attending one of the camp’s sessions.

The Polar Pool will once again be set-up at the Wachusett Mountain base lodge so gather your family, friends, and co-workers and take the Polar Dip for a great cause – and we’ll see you at the mountain!
