41st Annual Festival of Crafts: Holiday Fair

As the holiday season fast approaches the quest for the perfect gift begins. While many people end up waiting until the last minute scrounging through the remains of bargain bins and empty sale racks, the Worcester Center for Crafts is offering a much different shopping experience.

November 26th-28th, the Worcester Center for Crafts is holding its 41st Annual Festival of Crafts: Holiday Fair for all those that are looking to give something a little more thoughtful to their friends and loved ones. Instead of giving out impersonal gift cards or a boring pair of tube socks, the Center for Crafts encourages people to consider the idea of purchasing gifts that were made as unique one-of-a-kind objects, just like the individual the gift is intended for. The 41st Annual Festival of Crafts: Holiday Fair will be held at the Worcester Center for Crafts facility at 25 Sagamore Road, in Worcester Massachusetts. The Festival of Crafts is a weekend-long event with hours on Friday and Saturday 10AM-5PM and Sunday 11AM-4PM. The Annual Festival of Crafts will feature more than 55 regional and nationally known artists who have been chosen from hundreds of submissions so only the best examples of contemporary American craft will be present. Cost of admission is $5 per person with all proceeds going to Worcester Center for Crafts programming.

The 41st Annual Festival of Crafts: Holiday Fair will features juried hand-crafted objects in such mediums as ceramics, hand-blown glass, metal, fiber, and wood as well as photography, jewelry, and prints. This event transforms the Worcester Center for Crafts into a veritable goldmine for unique purchases of exquisitely made objects. Artist booths will fill the Center’s lobby, hallways, studios, gallery, and library. The Holiday Fair also features raffles with prizes donated by each of the artists at the Festival. The Gallery Store will be open for business during the festival for those that desire that boutique feel. Don’t fret if shopping makes you build up an appetite because sandwiches and other delicious fare from Eric’s La Patisserie will be sold during the Festival.

The Worcester Center for Crafts has been operating for the last 154 years as a non-profit, independent, community based arts organization committed to providing quality craft education, supporting entrepreneurship in the arts, and promoting an appreciation for fine craft.  For more information about this event contact the Worcester Center for Crafts at 508.753.8183 or look for us on the web at http://www.worcestercraftcenter.org.
